It wasn't really my cup of tea because it did very little to explore the spiritual side of Johnny Cash, only the man with the drug problem who is redeemed by his one true love, which seems to have missed the mark. Some good dramatic moments in it, I dunno. I own it but I will probably not watch it again, I just love Cash too much! The movie, besides the glaring errors, was pretty all right. I distinctly remember another sketch that definitely has different fake celebrities singing "Stand By Your Man" Yeah I don’t get it either, but I still like it, I dunno.

Your Description of "Long Black Veil" put me in mind of Gary Moore's "Over the Hills and Far Away". His protagonist only goes to jail for a long time though - no woman's worth hanging for!
